ELECT. FORKLIFT FACTS

# A Forklift Licence is not required for any pedestrian operated forklift,a ride-on pallet truck however does need one.
*Training by a qualified operator is necessary prior to use 

# Most 3 phase or 240v battery chargers are designed for an 8 or 12 hour charging cycle and will switch off automatically once finished,best done overnight.

# Condition of battery is based on how many charges it has had as well as age and quality of care during it's worklife, if in doubt, get a test & report done. Most batteries have a life span of 5-10yrs depend. on use.

# Battery Electric units are ever popular as they have cheaper running costs over the years, are quieter with no fumes and require less maintenance or operator care than LPG units.

# They are as quick & efficient as LPG units and pedestrian models are generally safer in the workplace to use and operate.

# In Victoria,our water quality is very good....therefore it can be used to top up batteries, but it is recommended to use distilled water,this is done after charging.

# For OH&S requirements you will generally need to set up a safe charging area in your factory,this should be well ventilated ,saline should be on hand in case of eye contact.
PVC Gloves,Goggles & clear instructions should be provided as well as adequate training...we are happy to assist in this area.
